Charles L Elder

Spartanburg, SC- Charles L. Elder, 77, husband of Ann Moore Elder, was welcomed into the arms of his heavenly Father on Monday, March 19, 2018. Born October 19, 1940 in Spartanburg, SC, Charles was the son of the late Leona “Mary Jo” and Toy M. Elder, Sr. He was a graduate of Fairforest High School, class of 1960, and a member of the former Oak Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his loving wife of 56 years, Charles is survived by his son, Steven Craig Elder and his wife, Julie; his daughter, Kimberly Elder Buss and her husband, Chris; granddaughters, Mackenzie Elder Visage (Chris), Kayla Buss, and Sydney Elder; grandson, Jonathan Craig Buss; great granddaughter, Kaitlynn “Pumpkin” Buss; his sisters, Evelyn E. DePrete and Viola E. Kimbrell; and brothers, Toy Elder, Jr., James, Harold, Larry, Donnie, and Kenneth Elder. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert E. Elder. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 22nd, 6-8PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 23rd, 2PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by longtime Pastor and friend, Reverend Rufus Chaneyworth. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, 350 N Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
