Charles Hood Lee Jr.

Charles Hood Lee Jr., 71, husband of Glaydeane S. Lee, left this world on Monday, September 18th, 2023, in Spartanburg, SC. Born on August 22nd, 1952, in Richmond, VA, to the late Charles Hood Lee Sr. and Joan Yost Lee. Chuck's journey led him to graduate from Asheville High School and attend the University of North Carolina Asheville. His commitment to serving his country saw him enlist in the Army, dedicating four years to his service. Chuck's passions were as diverse as the life he led. He had a love for golf, spending countless hours on the green perfecting his swing. The joy he found in the company of his grandchildren and family was immeasurable, and their cherished moments together will forever be remembered. Chuck had a keen interest in sports statistics, always keeping himself updated with the latest scores and standings. Nature held a special place in Chuck's heart. He found solace and delight in the beach, the mountains, and the charming city of Greer, SC. His appreciation for the world's beauty was evident in the way he embraced the diverse landscapes. Chuck was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church in Greer, where his sense of community and spiritual connection thrived. In addition to his beloved wife, Glaydeane, Chuck is survived by his two children, Charles "Chad" Lee Sims and Chrissy Driskell, and two cherished grandchildren, Madison Sims and Baylie McSherry. He is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Hall of Huntington Beach, CA, and Tiffany Kitchen and her husband Bob of Wilmington, NC. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In honor of Chuck's memory, the family kindly requests that any donations be made to the Cancer Association of Spartanburg & Cherokee Counties Inc, at PO Box 1582, Spartanburg, SC 29304, a cause close to his heart.
