Charles E. Morrow, Sr., 86, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 2:00pm at Lake Bowen Baptist Church, Inman, South Carolina, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00pm.
Charles was born July 17, 1936, in Bryson City, North Carolina to the late Hester Brown Morrow and Charlie L. Morrow. He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Marianna Morrow Cope and Charles Lee Cope.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Jarvis Morrow of Inman, South Carolina, two daughters Deborah Adams (Garry) of Los Angeles, California, and Dawn Swensen (Christian) of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one son Dr. Charles E. Morrow, Jr. of Spartanburg, South Carolina; two grandchildren who were the light of his life, Reilly and Will Morrow of Charleston, South Carolina; his beloved four-legged companion, Llew, and many nieces and nephews.
Charles was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, affectionately known as BoBo. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fly-fishing, hunting, and golf.
He graduated from Western Carolina University and had a distinguished executive career in the food and dairy industry. He served as an advisor to the food, dairy and animal husbandry programs at UNC Greensboro, Clemson University, NC State, UVA Charlottesville, North and South Carolina Departments of Agriculture, and South Carolina Wildlife Commission. In retirement, he owned and operated Hi-Bridge Driving Range, Inman, South Carolina, and served his community by volunteering at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for 20 years, in the ROC, Breast Health Center and NICU.
In remembrance of Charles, memorials may be made to the Lake Bowen Baptist Church Building Fund or The Spartanburg Regional Foundation.
