Charles Elliott Thomas

Moore, SC- Charles Elliott Thomas, 87, husband of the late Nancy Smith Thomas, died Saturday, July 16, 2022 at his home. Born January 27, 1935 in Spartanburg, SC, Charlie was a son of the late Elliott Thomas and Julia Moore Thomas. He honorably served his country in the US Navy on the USS Forrestal as a mechanic. Charlie loved fishing, the Atlanta Braves, wrestling, and the Dorman Cavaliers. He was a devoted Papa, friend, and neighbor. Charlie retired from Israel’s Service Station after 30 years of service. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo McMeans (Danny) of Moore, SC and Lynn Kirby (Robert) of Gaffney, SC; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Charlie was predeceased by one great grandson; and his seven siblings. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 21st, 2:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend Frank Thomas. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Mary Jo.
