Chase John Koonce

July 1, 2002 — October 4, 2021

Spartanburg, SC- Chase John Koonce, 19, received his heavenly wings on Monday, October 4, 2021. Chase was born July 1, 2002, in Spartanburg, SC, son of John Clayton and Nina Brown Koonce. Chase was a blessing and the greatest miracle from the start. His and Clayton’s journey from the beginning was an unbreakable bond between 2 brothers, identical twins who in time we would all get to witness just how pure love is. They not only shared the same DNA, but also walked side by side for 19 years. Before birth Clayton had already established his big brotherly love by holding Chase in his arms in the womb. Both were fighters from the beginning weighing 3 LBs at birth. Together they grew and flourished in half the time expected, beating the odds and proving to everyone that they were gonna be a force of determination, full of life, filled with ambition, dreams, and accomplishments that they chose to do together as one. Most important were his family and friends. Chase was so loyal, loving, and kind. He was Compassionate, protective, and always a great son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend. He was passionate in all that he did- NC State Champion in baseball and wrestling. He was a natural when it came to athletics or any challenge of his interest, full of confidence and determination. He lived everyday to the fullest in laughter joy and adventure, always eager to express his plans with great enthusiasm while always including all the people he loved in his journey. He always had a smile so bright and beautiful, a contagious laugh you will never forget, and we all admired his sense of humor. He was always lifting people up and he enjoyed making others happy. This world is a better place because of him! He is and always will be our baby boy, our little Chase-e-pooh! Chase was employed by the Home Depot Chase is also survived by siblings John Clayton Koonce, Joshua John Brown (Rosa), Chelsea Earlene Koonce and Elaina Koch.
