Cheryl Lindsey Truax

August 25, 1950 — March 29, 2023

Roebuck, SC- Cheryl L. Truax, 72, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 after a brief illness.

Born August 25, 1950 in Woodruff, SC, Cheryl was a daughter of the late Furman Hugh Lindsey and Virginia Orr Hyder Lindsey. She was the widow of Chester Eugene “Chip” Truax.

Cheryl was a graduate of Dorman High School, class of 1969, and graduated from the Nursing Program at R. D. Anderson where she received her LPN degree. She was a nurse with Spartanburg Regional for 30 years.

She was a lover of cats and helped shelter many over the years. Cheryl loved her church family and was involved in many of the women’s ministries.

Cheryl is survived by her nephews, niece, great nephews, and great niece, all of whom were dear to her heart. She was a true friend and a port in the storm for many. Cheryl loved much and was loved much in return.

She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Griffin; and a brother, Billy Lindsey.

The family will be at the home of Cathy Foster.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paws, Prayers, and Promises or to the building fund at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 5th, 2-3PM at Dunbar Funeral Home with a service to follow in the Chapel at 3PM.

The family would like to express thanks to everyone who has called, sent cards, or visited Cheryl, but a special thank you to Cathy Akins, who stopped by on a daily basis to care for our treasure, Cheryl.
