Claudio Pesaro Claudio Pesaro, 92, of Spartanburg, passed away from this world on Saturday, January 30, 2021 after a brief period of declining health. Claudio was born on May 29, 1928 in Capodistria, Italy. He was the son of the late Giovanni and Rosina Pesaro. He was of the Catholic faith. Claudio immigrated from Italy to the United States with his young family in 1956. He was a master craftsman, beginning work immediately at Woodcraft, a custom cabinet shop in Spartanburg, where he remained until his retirement. When he was not working, one could usually find him on the golf course. He was a charter member of Huntington Hills Golf Club, and playing the game was one of his great loves. In later years, when he could no longer play, he enjoyed watching tournaments on television, as well as soccer matches, another passion of his. Claudio is survived by two sons, Licio Pesaro (Juanita), of Moore, and John Pesaro (Debra) of Spartanburg. In addition, he was beloved “Nono” to two granddaughters, Melissa Pesaro Ragan (Steven) of Spartanburg, and Rhea Pesaro of Belton; and three great-grandchildren, Adeline Grace Ragan, Eliza Leigh Ragan, and Malachi Dean Ragan, of Spartanburg. He is also survived by his former spouse, Elenita Grega. He was predeceased by a sister, Bruna Tedesco, of Trieste, Italy. A private graveside service for the family will be conducted soon, followed by interment in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg. The families are at their respective homes.
