Cleopatra (Claire) Psaltis Burrows, aged 87, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on March 7th, 2024. She was born on September 25th, 1936, in Yonkers, NY, to the late Andrew George Psaltis and Margaret Baiersdorfer Psaltis. Cleo dedicated over twenty years of her life as an elementary school teacher at West Haverstraw Elementary in Rockland County, NY. A resilient and loving mother, she single-handedly raised her daughter Christine. Cleo possessed a passion for knowledge, evident in her love for reading and her determination to teach herself the Spanish language in her later years. She found solace and community as a member of Reidville Road Methodist Church. Cleo is survived by her beloved daughter, Christine Burrows, as well as her sister-in-law, Joan Psaltis, nephews; Andrew, Michael (Elizabeth), and Douglas Psaltis (Hsing Chen), a niece, Jennifer Psaltis, and a lifelong friend, Sally Parent. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George and John Psaltis.
