David Dwain Carter

David Dwain Carter, born October 6, 1970 in Spartanburg, son of Debra Barbary Dillard and Kenneth Wayne Carter, slipped through his earthly bindings on Saturday, November 26th 2022 to enter his eternal home. He had been in ill health for an extended period and will no longer be suffering in pain. 

He leaves his most cherished son, Tristan Mckay Carter from first marriage with Michelle Richards Carter; two step sons from current marriage to Christi Carter, Cody and Dalton; a brother, Colby Alexander Carter (Beth); sister, Tori Dillard Helton (Stephen); nephew, Cam Carter; a niece, Hannah Helton; his childhood friend of 37 years, Danny Dempsey; his faithful dog, Stella; and cat, Tony. 

David was predeceased by his father, and his beloved "Nanaw."

He was a gifted artist and untrained musical talent. He never met a stranger and very much loved people and nature. He had a given knack for making people laugh which endeared him to many. Whitestone was the community in which he grew up and loved. He spent many hours romping the woods of Camp Croft State Park and the old Whitestone Springs ruins. Already his departure is greatly felt and he is sorely missed.
