Moore, SC - David H. Hayden, 77, husband of Robin Hayden, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Agape Hospice after a year and a half long battle with cancer.
Born on May 30, 1944 in Berkeley, California to parents Rev. Henry and Betty-Jane Hayden, he lived and traveled extensively throughout the world. His fluency and command of the French language served him throughout his professional career. He served in the United States Peace Corp with positions in French West Africa including Dakar, Senegal and in the Republic of Niger where he taught English. After returning to the U.S. he earned his Masters in Business Administration from California State University Fresno before embarking on a lengthy career in international banking with United California Bank, and later Bank of America. He served as a bank Vice President with assignments in London, Paris and Abidjan, The Ivory Coast. After retirement from banking he lived in Pecz, Hungary for several years before returning home to live in Spokane, Washington, Tucson, Arizona and finally Moore, S.C. His humor, intellect and keen insights into world geo/politics made him a fascinating conversationalist to those who knew and loved him. His ability to make personal connections with everyone and anyone was his true gift.
