David Douglass Hoops, 43 of Moore, South Carolina passed away suddenly with his family by his side, on Friday December 3rd. David was born on April 7, 1978, in Oshkosh Wisconsin the son of Glenn and Cindy Hoops. David graduated from Lourdes High School, and Fox Valley Technical College. He then moved to South Carolina to work at Freightliner Custom Chassis alongside his dad for many years. He also worked part time at the Bon Secours Arena where he had many stories of artists he met and enjoyed the concerts as he was a long-time avid KISS fan. David was a faithful Packer, Badger, Brewer and Bucks fan as proven by his nickname given to him by his siblings “Mr. ESPN.” In his free time, he loved playing sports with his two boys Brett and Jacob and cherished time with Alayna. David enjoyed doing yard work, being outdoors, traveling, hunting and fishing. His family will miss his jokes and pranks but know he will keep it going with his grandpa in heaven. David is survived and deeply missed by his three children, Brett, Jacob and Alayna and their mother Melissa Hoops. His parents, Glenn and Cindy Hoops, sister Christy Hoops and brother and sister in-law Douglass (Erin) Hoops and precious niece Maddison Hoops. Aunts and uncles, Mike (Stacy) Clausen, Pam (Mike) Meyer, Lori (Craig) Peachy, Linda (Tom) Gribben, his cousins Dan Clausen, Heather (Rohin) Dilkhush, Jessica Meyer, Luke (Beth) Meyer, Craigie Peachy, Billie (Kyle) Loehr, and Tony (Becky) Gribben, numerous friends and fur babies. He was predeceased by his twin sisters Maggie and Mindy Hoops, his grandparents Donald and Lucille Clausen who were waiting with open arms for their “golden boy”, David and Myrna Hoops and numerous aunts and uncles. A visitation celebrating his life will be held at Fiss & Bills Poklasny Funeral Home 865 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, WI on Monday December 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service to follow. Visitation continues at St. Jude The Apostle Parish (St. Vincent site) on Tuesday December 14th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in David’s name for his children.
