David Barron Jennings, Junior David Jennings – cherished child of God and kindhearted gentle spirit, devoted husband, beloved son, dearest brother, and faithful friend passed away Saturday, March 14 in Waltham, Massachusetts. David was born June 5, 1992 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He attended Pine Street School, McCracken Middle School, graduated from Spartanburg High School in 2010 and cum laude from North Greenville University in 2014. David lived in Waltham, worked at Beaver-Visitec International, Inc. and was a dearly loved member of Covenant Church in Massachusetts. David is survived by his wife Bridget (Earle) also of Waltham, his parents, Barry and Cindy Jennings of Spartanburg, and his sister Stephanie Jennings of Lansing, Michigan. David loved the Lord, his wife, his family. He was especially fond of games – board games in particular. David had a passion for music. He was an avid Arsenal fan, loved baseball, Disney, Star Wars, reading science fiction novels, and mountains. David was a coffee connoisseur and enjoyed cooking from a very young age. He liked nothing better than trying new recipes and experimenting with ingredients. To honor and remember David in lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to David’s church Covenant Church in Massachusetts. Or honor him at your own local church while you are not gathering as usual. In addition, please support suicide prevention through donations to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Alternatively, you can support suicide prevention through the work of David’s great friends at Choppy Seas Trading Company. We are so grateful to them for their help to make your contributions easy on this tribute page. Donations gathered by Choppy Seas will be distributed to the suicide prevention partner organizations they already support through their work. In the midst of corona virus quarantine, the family will not be receiving friends or holding an open funeral or memorial service. Join the family via live stream at www.facebook.com/dunbarlivestream as they gather privately to celebrate David’s life at noon on March 24th. Or hold your own remembrance. Have a coffee, try a new recipe, play a hymn, watch a soccer game or a Star Wars film - celebrate his special life with us in your own way. And while you are at home with those you love during this particularly difficult time, play a board game and think of David…and hold those loved ones especially close. And friends, please be encouraged with us as God teaches us from His Word (KJV): 1 Corinthians 15:55 – “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory.” 1 Corinthians 13:12 – “For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” Romans 8:24-26 - 24“For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth why doth he yet hope for. 25But we hope for what we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. 26Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Ecclesiastes 7:1 – “A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.” Philippians 1:21, 23 - 21“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. …23For I am in a strait betwixt two , having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better:” 2 Corinthians 5:8 - “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” Isaiah 57: 1-2 – “1The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away , none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. 2He shall enter into peace: They shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.” 2 Timothy 4:6-7 - “6For I am ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 - “13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” Even so, come Lord Jesus. We invite you to leave your messages of remembrance here online.
