David "Pudge" Lankford

David “Pudge” Lankford, 70, of Boiling Springs, SC passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at home. Born December 19, 1952, he was a son of the late Hubert Parker and Juanita Wall Lankford. A graduate of Dorman High School, David earned a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College. David retired after many years of service with the City of Spartanburg. He was a kind-hearted man with a fondness for animals, especially his dogs. David was talented, both athletically and musically. He enjoyed all sports, but his favorites were baseball, football, and racing. He sang in musical groups at several churches over the years. David will be missed by those he leaves behind, his daughter, Casey Blackwell (Jott) of Tega Cay, SC; grandchildren, Dax and Marlee Blackwell of Tega Cay; brother, Michael Lankford (Teresa) of Spartanburg, SC; nieces, Josie Monson of Bremerton, WA, Mitzie Brown (Shane) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Mandi Pruitt (David) of Moore, SC; seven great- nieces and nephews; three great-great- nieces and nephews; and a multitide of other friends and family who were important to him throughout his life. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, William Barry Lankford. Graveside services will be 2:30pm on Friday December 8, 2023 in Good Shepherd Memorial Park Mausoleum, 4164 Highway 9, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
