David Lee Sprouse

David Lee Sprouse, 83, of Pacolet, SC passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. He was born on May 18, 1940, in Spartanburg, SC to the late George Wilson and Maebell Hill Sprouse. 

A true man of faith, David was a dedicated lifetime member of Hammett Grove Baptist Church. David retired after 20 years with Hoechst Celanese. He was known for his loyalty, storytelling abilities, and his love for fixing things. Whether it was working on tractors and cars, welding, or being the go-to handyman, David's skills were unmatched. In his free time, David enjoyed fishing, especially on Lake Wateree. Most of all, he was a loving family man.

David's warm personality touched the lives of many. He is survived by his daughter, Joanne Boyd (Steve); granddaughters, Jaime Cash (Josh) and Amy Conner; great-grandchildren Jax Cash, Joe Cash, JD Cash, Bryson Conner and Jason Conner; brother, Bobby Sprouse (Jean); sisters, Betty Whitt and Alma Parker; brother-in-law, Bill Weathers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen Foster Sprouse; daughter, Vickie Loving; granddaughter, Amanda Goode; and siblings, Paul Sprouse, Ruby Weathers, Lawrence Sprouse, and Christine Johns.

Visitation will be 2:00-2:45pm on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Hammett Grove Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 3:00pm, conducted by Rev. David Sellars. Burial will follow in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
