Doris E. Martz Wallis

Doris E. Martz Wallis Spartanburg, SC- Doris Elizabeth Martz Wallis, 87, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Born October 3, 1931 in Huntsville, AL, Doris was a daughter of the late Clyde J. and Annie L. Ray Martz. She was a graduate of Huntsville High School and studied art and design at Auburn University. Doris married Jack J. Wallis in 1950, the couple had two children. She was an accomplished artist, decorator, and pianist. Doris is survived by her sons, Randy and his wife, Mary, of Spartanburg, SC and Brett of Winston Salem, NC; her grandchildren, Katharyn of New York City, NY and John of Winston Salem, NC; her brother, John of Huntsville, AL; two nieces; one nephew; and their families. She was predeceased by a brother, Leslie Martz. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 17th, 2:00PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend A. Mickey Fisher. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Congregational Care Fund, 626 Norwood Ave, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
