Spartanburg, SC- Dr. Jack McQueen Graham, 90, husband of Peggy King Graham, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Born in Whiteville, NC, “Papa” attended college at the Citadel, then medical school at MUSC. He joined the US Air Force and was awarded a Berry Plan, which allowed him to defer his military obligation until after his residency. He completed his residency at Grady Memorial in Atlanta, GA. After moving to Spartanburg, he practiced as a urologist from 1963 until 1997. He served as Chief of Staff at Spartanburg Regional Hospital, Mary Black Hospital, and Doctors Memorial Hospital. He was a member of St Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Spartanburg. Jack was an avid reader who also loved to fish, rebuild cars, garden, and refinish furniture. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Peggy; their sons, Jack Graham and his wife, Karen, and their son, Trace, David Graham and his three sons, Chad (Lindsey), Josh (Mariana and their son Luke), and Christopher (and his fiancé Cosley), Cole Graham (Kris and their children Mitchell and Cole), and Philip Graham (and his sons Hughes and Oliver); and his nephew Bert Wood (Sheila). He was predeceased by his sister, Laura Wood. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 24th, 10:00AM at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
