Moore, SC- Dr. Thomas Edward Ripaldi, Jr., 74, beloved husband of Vickie Haulbrook Ripaldi, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, November 24, 2017. Born April 27, 1943 in Detroit, MI, Tom was a son of the late Thomas Edward Ripaldi, Sr. and Frances Arlene Ripaldi. He honorably served his country in the Air Force Reserves Special Ops team with a rank of Second Lieutenant. Tom received his Bachelors for Wayne State University, his Masters from the University of Detroit, and his combined PhD in psychology and religion from Columbia Pacific University. Tom was a licensed marriage and family therapist for over 25 years. He served as the Interim Director for a center that counseled victims of the Oklahoma City bombing and was instrumental in writing recovery material for counselors when 9/11 occurred. As a result of his humanitarian efforts, in 2003 he was honored by President George Bush with the Physician of the Year award. Thom worked on a government advisory board for Health Care reform and as a consultant within the housing industry. Dr. Ripaldi also wrote and published “Wake Up, America!” in 2015. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Kevin Ripaldi and his wife, Dana, of Davesport, FL; his daughter, Renee Huss and her husband, Chris, of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Victoria and Anna Huss, Isaac Ripaldi, Devon Graham, Olivia, Isabella, and Amelia Brogden, Addison and Ashton McClure; two great grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Ripaldi and his wife, Susie, of Plano, TX. In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his grandparents, Charles H. Ripaldi, Mabel Edna Harding, Cecil Kellogg, Sr., and Ruth Kirkland; and a granddaughter, Emma Rose Brogden. A visitation will be held Thursday, November 30th, 5:00-7:00PM at Dunbar Funeral Home.
