Dr. Thomas Wade Westmoreland Spartanburg- Dr. Thomas Wade Westmoreland, 67, husband of Dianne Schlock Westmoreland, passed away on February 12, 2018. He was born April 27, 1950, to the late William Pat and Estelle Pearson Westmoreland of Woodruff. Woodruff High School was his alma mater and he was a graduate of Presbyterian College and The Medical University of South Carolina in 1976. He served as a member of the County Medical Society. Dr. Tom was an active member of Southside Baptist Church for 42 years. Throughout his many years, he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, Choir Member, and member of a men’s quartet. Dr. Tom was a dedicated physician and served the Spartanburg community for 40 years. He was the perfect example of a family doctor and devoted his life to serving his patients. He was beloved and respected by his family, friends, and colleagues for a life defined by deep intelligence, compassion, and integrity. He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne, of 45 years; son Benjamin Thomas (Kristin) of Cumming, GA; daughter, Molly Westmoreland (Jason) O’Dell of Jonesville, SC. Pappy’s grandchildren Steven Thomas and Coleman Bradley O’Dell, and Joseph Knox Westmoreland were the center of his life. He is also survived by his older brother, Gerald (Julia) Westmoreland of Woodruff. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert. A memorial service will be held at Southside Baptist Church on Friday, February 16th at 3:00 followed by a gathering in the Family Life Center to offer condolences and celebrate Tom’s life.
