Dwight "Alex" Bennett

Dwight Alexander “Alex” Bennett, 20, of Landrum, S.C., passed away on April 11^th, 2024. Born in Spartanburg, SC. Dwight was the beloved son of Dwight Bennett and Genie Bennett, with his step-mother Brande Bennett by his side.

A graduate of Landrum High School, Dwight was passionate about cars and racing, finding joy in the adrenaline rush of speed and competition. His love for music filled his days, providing a soundtrack to his adventures and endeavors. In his youth, Dwight displayed his athleticism on the football field, showcasing his determination and grit.

Yet, Dwight's true essence was reflected in his compassionate nature and generous soul. He possessed a creative mind that knew no bounds, always seeking new ways to express himself and uplift others. Dwight's heart was as vast as the sky, overflowing with kindness and empathy. He found fulfillment in serving others, dedicating his time to volunteer work with Carpenters for Christ and embarking on meaningful mission trips, including a recent journey to Honduras.

In addition to his parents, Dwight is survived by his siblings, Sophia Bennett, Abigayl Gorham, and Alyvia Gorham, his paternal grandmother, Joyce Elaine Bennett, his maternal grandparents, Susan & Steve Graham, and Harry & Tammy Gordon, as well as several aunts and uncles.

A service to honor Dwight's life will be held on Thursday, April 18th, 2024, 12P.M., at Gowensville Baptist Church, where he found solace and strength in his faith. Prior to the service, friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects during a receiving of friends at the church from 9:30 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
