Edith Gay Mabrey

Campobello, SC- Edith Gay Mabrey, 70, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Mary Black Hospital. Born February 26, 1947 in Spartanburg, SC, Gay was the daughter of the late Donald Franklin and Edith V. Baily Mabrey. She worked with Butte Knit for many years and was a member of the Lions Club and Motlow Creek Baptist Church. Gay is survived by her brother, Johnny Wayne Mabrey (Jane) of Spartanburg, SC; two sisters, Shirley Anne Dupoise (Paul) of Virginia and Carole Self (Leroy) of Campobello, SC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her twin brother, Richard Ray Mabrey; brother, Donald F. Mabrey, Jr; and sister, Mary Kathrine Smith. The family will receive friends Friday, June 2nd, 1-2PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 2PM. Burial will be held in Cedar Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Motlow Creek Baptist Church, 2300 Motlow Creek Road, Campobello, SC 29322.
