Emma Candler Barnette

Lawrenceville, GA - Emma Candler Barnette, age 33, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 12, 2023. 

Born November 20, 1989 in Spartanburg, SC, Emma was the daughter of Peggy Murphy Barnette (Russell Postal) and the late Jerry Richard Barnette and Linda Bridgeman Barnette; and granddaughter of the late, Ellis and Kate Murphy, and Hugh and Betty Barnette. 

If you were blessed to have Emma as part of your life, you know that she had such a good heart and was a kind, loving person. The world is going to be a darker place without her light and she will be missed dearly. 

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her daughter, Anna Megan Blackwell; her uncle, Walter Murphy; and her aunt, Kathy Murphy Collins.

Emma is survived by her siblings, Kris Bell Humphreys (Preston), Walter Barnette, Hugh Barnette, and stepbrother, Ralph Jones (Kaitlin); an aunt, Kim Barnette Fowler (David); an uncle, Wally Collins; cousins, Elijah Fowler, Ryan Fowler and Ellis Collins Gammons, and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30-11:30AM at The J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 followed by a graveside service at 12PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The service will be officiated by Reverend Cam Treece of Central United Methodist Church, Spartanburg.
