Spartanburg, SC- Erin Elizabeth Nelson Sacra, 36, died Sunday, September 9, 2018, after six long years of fighting her battle against primary brain cancer. Born December 15, 1981, she was the daughter of Pamela Robinson Michaels, her mother, and Dan Nelson, her biological father. Erin graduated with honors from Boiling Springs High School in 2000 and Suma Cum Laude from Winthrop University in 2003. In addition to her parents, Erin is survived by her son, Caleb Michael Sacra; her sister in-law, Deana McCarter Nelson; and her niece, Kayla Nelson. She was predeceased by Charles Calvin Michaels, Jr. (Erin’s “My Mikie”); and her brother, Daniel “Buster” Nelson; maternal grandparents, Woodrow “Papa Woody” and Murle Robinson; and her paternal grandparents, Charles “Pop” and Mary “Granny” Nelson. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 13th, 5-7PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. A memorial service will be Friday, September 14th, 2:00PM at Northbrook Baptist Church. In Erin’s honor, her son, Caleb, kindly requests that anyone attending the services wear bright colors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Comfort Care Hospice, 2078 Woodruff Road, Suite A, Greenville, SC or to the charity of one’s choice.
