Esther Margaret Shiller

Esther Margaret Shiller (nee de Beer) passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 5, 2018 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  Esther was born on May 19, 1931 in Durban, South Africa to Magdalena Katharina and Johannes Adam De Beer. She was married to Ralph George Shiller on April 2, 1949.  She is survived by her husband, her daughters, Beverley McKillip and her husband, Brian, of Laurens, SC, Lesley Shiller of Spartanburg, SC, Robyn Baigorria and her husband, Ernesto, of Spartanburg, SC, and Jennifer Shiller of Woburn, MA; grandchildren, Jason & Vanessa Baigorria, Tiana & Keave Shiller-Lau; brother, Frans de Beer; sister, Caroline Linscott; along with numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Johaness de Beer & Willem de Beer and sisters, Anna Magson, Gertrude Knox & Madeline Chase. Esther was an active member of the PEO in Auburn, California for many years.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Esther’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, 901 S Pine St, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or the Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO Foudation), Treasurer’s Department, 3700 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50312. A private celebration of life will be held by her family. May she rest in peace with the angels.
