Etta Gettys Thomas

Inman, SC- Etta Gettys Thomas, 88, wife of the late James Thomas, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Rosecrest Rehabilitation Facility. Born February 12, 1929 in Sunshine, NC, Etta was a daughter of the late Lee and Fannie Luckadoo Gettys. She was retired from Abbott Labs. Etta is survived by her four children, Paul J. Thomas, Shirley A. Thomas, Norma O’Shields (Wesley), all of Inman, SC, and Kay Staggs Lee of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Leslie O’Shields, Tiffany Dabney (Norman), Jessica Wingo (Patrick), and Wendy Staggs; and three great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son in-law, John Lee; and grandson, W. Lee Staggs. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 26th, 1PM at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, 760 Bethany Church Road, Forest City, NC 28043
