Evelyn Morrell Brock

Roebuck, SC- Evelyn Morrell Brock, 86, wife of the late Earl “Bud” Brock, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Born August 15, 1932 in Spartanburg, SC, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Jessie James and Violet Johnson Morrell. She was formerly employed with Spartan Mills for 25 years and then worked alongside her husband as the bookkeeper of Brock Mechanical. Evelyn was a former member of Evangel Cathedral for 30 years, where she enjoyed preparing meals for the church, and was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her son, Reverend Henry Brock (Lynn); daughters, Linda Taylor (Frankie) and Martha Ann Turner (James); eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great greatgrandchild; and her brothers, Ed Morrell (Lynette), and John Morrell (Ginny). Evelyn was predeceased by her sisters, JoAnn McGee and Nancy Story; three brothers, Dan, Cecil, and Jerry Morrell; and one great grandson, Jeremiah J. Ortiz, II. The family will receive friends Monday, November 26th, 10-10:45AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11AM, officiated by Pastor Frankie Taylor. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In remembrance of Evelyn, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3000 Stone Station Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
