Frances Gilreath Brown

Spartanburg - Frances Gilreath Brown of Boiling Springs, passed away Tuesday November 14, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. She was born November 13, 1939 in Spartanburg to the late Clyde and Louise Gilreath. Fran was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, where she volunteered and worked for over 28 years. She was a member of many church and school committees: The Women's Club, Cub Scout Den Mother, School Teacher's Aide, Church Hospitality, Girl Scout Volunteer, School Yard Mother and Funeral & Wedding Coordinator. She was always available to help and support anyone in need. Throughout her life, she considered everyone she met part of her family. Fran was also an excellent cook and hostess. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Walter James Brown; five children, Bart Brown of Roebuck, Todd Brown of North Carolina, Patti Brown Fix of Spartanburg, Steven Brown of Easley, and Krissie Brown Belue of Boiling Springs; and seven grandchildren, Blair Brown of North Carolina, Griffin, Parker and Bella Fix of Spartanburg, Julian and Jocelyn Belue of Boiling Springs, and Kensington Brown of Easley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am on Friday, December 1, 2023 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (Historic). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 161 N. Dean St. , Spartanburg, SC 29302
