Frances Jane Johnson Cagle

Moore, SC- Mrs. Frances Jane Johnson Cagle, 92 years old, died on July 3, 2018. She was married to Mr. Malcolm Henry Cagle for 56 years. He died on July 3, 2003. They lived, worked, raised their family and retired in Mount Airy, NC. They were members of First Baptist Church in Mount Airy, NC. Mrs. Cagle was the daughter of Dewey and Bessie Johnson and was raised in Walnut Cove, NC. She was a graduate of Mars Hill College. She was a wife, daughter, sister, cousin, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend .  She is survived by her daughters: Sue Cagle James and her husband, Randy James; and Martha Cagle Griswold and her husband, Bill Griswold.  Mrs. Cagle lived with Martha and Bill for 15 years in Moore, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Emily Crouse and her sons, Clayton and Landon; Elizabeth Cagle James; Joseph and Casey Griswold; Benjamin and Marisa Griswold and their daughters, Anna Grace and Hazel Jane; John Allen and Kristen Griswold and their son, Abe; and Laura Bryan Griswold. She had two brothers, Ben Johnson and Donald Johnson, as well as a cousin, Doug Moorefield.  A private service and burial will be held for the family at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Spartanburg, SC. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church, 714 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030 and to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 101 St. Matthews Lane, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
