Marietta, GA- Frank Albert Coons, 90, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Born June 9, 1928 in Austin, IN, Frank was a son of the late Charles H. and Mabel Harrod Coons. He was a graduate of Austin High School, Hanover College, and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Frank honorably served his country in the US Army. He then married his wife, Reid Maddox Coons. Frank served churches as a Baptist minister in Indiana and Illinois, and retired from the ministry in Olney, IL. After his retirement, he and his family moved to Marietta, GA. Frank loved to sing. He sang with The Georgia Festival Chorus for more than 20 years and in the choir at Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Marietta, GA. In addition to his wife of 60 years, Reid, Frank is survived by his daughters, Nancy Toney (Duane) of Roebuck, SC and Barbara Carico (Joey) of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Jenna Carico and Jacob Carico; great-grandchild, Cooper Carico; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.Burial will be held Thursday, July 5th, 9:30AM in Heritage Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 6th, 11:00AM at Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Marietta, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice
