Cherokee Springs, SC- Franklin David Corbin, 79, husband of Elizabeth Chaffin Corbin, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born October 5, 1939 in Woodruff, SC, David was a son of the late Guy H. and Jennie Mae Foster Corbin. He was a native of the Cherokee Springs community and a graduate of Boiling Springs High School, class of 1957. David was employed with Mettler Toledo Scales for 24 years. He was a lifelong member of Cherokee Springs United Methodist Church and a mason with the Cherokee Masonic Lodge, #135 AFM for over 50 years. David was a collector and repairman of Lionel Trains and an Atlanta Braves enthusiast. David is the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Larry and Richard Corbin; his daughter, Ginger Corbin Church; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Graveside services with Masonic Rites will be held Friday, November 2nd, 2:00PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by Reverend Andrew Wolfe. The family will receive friends immediately following at Cherokee Springs UMC, 2870 Chesnee Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
