Spartanburg, SC- George “Pat” Edward Case, Jr., 92, husband of Jean Hollerith Case, died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 2, 1925 in Cherokee Springs, SC, Pat was a son of the late George E. Case Sr. and Lillian Ruth Turner Case. He was a graduate of Spartanburg High School, class of 1943, and a graduate of University of Virginia, Beta Gamma Sigma, class of 1948. Pat honorably served his country in the US Naval Air Corps during WWII. In Baltimore, MD, on May 17, 1952, Pat married his wife, Jean Chichester Hollerith. He was President for 45 years of the Case Bros. Music House in Spartanburg. Pat was a previous charter member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church and past Senior Warden, former member of the Spartanburg Rotary Club, former charter member of Sertoma, the Spectator Club, and the What Ja Say Club, former President and Chairman of the Board at the Spartanburg Day School, and Past President of the Spartanburg Music Foundation. He was a current member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent. In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his sons, George Edward Case, III (Elizabeth) of Atlanta, GA, Randolph Hollerith Case (Shelley) of Williamsburg, VA, and Robert Beverley Case (Bobbi) of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, George Edward Case, IV of Boston, MA, Daniel Sands Case (Catherine) of Reston, VA, Andrew Talcott Case (Corrine) of Richmond, VA, Emily Simmons Case of Charlottesville, VA, Michael Todd Lamb of Virginia Beach, VA, and Robert Vernon Lamb of Norfolk, VA; and a great grandchild, Zachary Daniel Case of Reston, VA. Pat was predeceased by his sister, Annie Fayssoux Hines; and a brother, Bennie T. Case. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 18th, 3PM at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, officiated by The Reverend J. Edward Norris. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Parish and Community Life Center.
