Spartanburg, SC- George McIntyre, 91, husband of the late Emily Riddle McIntyre, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Born October 29, 1927 in Arcadia, SC, Buck was a son of the late George “Rass” and Clara Love McIntyre. He attended district 6 schools and honorably served his country during WWII in the US Navy. Buck was employed with Beverage Air from February 1958 until April 1994. He retired after 36 years of service as a truck driver. He was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. He is survived by a grandson, Michael Means McCallister; his sisters, Virl Dearybury, Sue Hunter, both of Spartanburg, SC, and Katie Haulbrooks of Summerville, SC; his brothers, John McIntyre of Easley, SC and Conley McIntyre and his wife, Joyce, of Spartanburg, SC; and a sister in-law, Ruby McIntyre of Spartanburg, SC. Buck was predeceased by a daughter, Cindy Rose McIntyre McCallister; two brothers, Claude and Richard McIntyre; a sister, Julia Beaty and her husband, Leroy; and his stepmother, Janie McIntyre. Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 4th, 2:00PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, officiated by The Reverend Robert Brown.
