George Cameron Todd, Jr.

George Cameron Todd, Jr. died at his home, Tuesday, August 30, 2022. He was born in Columbia, South Carolina on October 4, 1954, the son of Elizabeth ”Betty” Howard Clarke Todd and the late George Cameron Todd. He was married to Sarah Welsh Hall in Florence on February 20, 1982.

He was a 1973 graduate of Porter Gaude School in Charleston and a 1977 Graduate of Wofford College. He was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Advent.

Mr. Todd is survived by his wife, his mother, his 3 sons and their spouses, George Cameron Todd, III, (Charlotte Graye Pelletier) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Eugene Hall Todd (Frances Cazenove McMath) of Greenville, South Carolina and Burwell Boykin Clarke Todd (Anne Eliza Fite) of Huntsville, Alabama; two granddaughters, Evelyn Maxwell Todd and Charlotte Hall Todd; and three grandsons, Eugene Hall Todd, Jr., Thomas Barrett Todd, and Charles Harris Todd.

He is also survived by a brother and a sister, Albert Rhett Heyward Todd and Rosa Cantey Heyward Todd Foxworth (Mrs. Eugene Dewey, III).

Mr. Todd was predeceased by his father; his sister, Elizabeth Clarke Todd Heckel; and brothers in-law, Dr. Robert Vero Heckel and Eugene Dewey “Foxy” Foxworth, III.

The family will receive at the home.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 at 11:30AM at Christ Church, 2305 North Williston Road, Florence, South Carolina, officiated by The Reverend Robert Lee Brown and The Reverend Marion DuBois Lucas, III.

Crucifer will be Mrs. Heyward Boykin Foxworth Anderson. Pall Bearers will be his nephews, Thomas Harrison Anderson, Matthew Brooks Charles, Eugene Bennett Hall, Robert Andrew Hall, Eugene Dewey Foxworth IV and his sons George Cameron Todd, III, Eugene Hall Todd, and Burwell Boykin Clarke Todd.

George’s love for his family and friends was abounding. He lived a life of service to others with a level of unmatched generosity.
