George S Wyant, Jr.

Spartanburg, SC- George S. Wyant, Jr., 64, husband of Mary Butler Wyant, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at his home. Born February 20, 1956 in Charlotte, NC, George was a son of the late George S. Wyant, Sr. and Frances Barksdale Wyant. He graduated from Spartanburg High School, class of 1974, after which he attended Mars Hill College. He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Mary Wyant; a son, Joseph Spencer Wyant and his wife, Lauren; his siblings, David M. Wyant (Kathy) of Columbia, SC, Patricia W. Hair (William) of St. Matthews, SC, and Rebecca W. Dominey (Brian) of Travelers Rest, SC; his uncle, Stowe Wyant of Charlotte, NC; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. George loved his family, his church, being a homebuilder, Young Life, TOTAL Ministries, GOLF, and his golfing buddies! He was known for his giving and serving attitude, always looking for a way to help others. He served just about every office of the HBA of Spartanburg and was a certified Master Builder. He served in many ways with Young Life, TOTAL Ministries, and Westminster Presbyterian Church, being an elder and faithful attender. He was an avid Alabama fan and loved playing golf and gardening. God, family, and his friends were what were important to him, along with being a man of integrity. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 15th, 2:00PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
