Born August 8, 1953, in Long Beach, California, Gerald (Gerry) Brinkman was son of the late Gerald and Dorothy Brinkman. Gerry served his country in the United States Navy as a Master Chief Petty Officer and retired with over 25 years of dedicated service. He served on several submarines including the USS Augusta, USS San Francisco, USS Stonewall Jackson, and the NR-1. Following his retirement Gerry provided tax and insurance services across several states and served as the Communication and Activities Officer for the Spartanburg H.O.G 4813 chapter. Gerry loved traveling the world with his family and friends, from the shores of Hawaii to the blue waters of Tahiti. He will be remembered as being strong, resilient, and inspiring. His personality and smile would light up the room. In addition to his beloved wife, Dominique, Gerry is survived by his daughters, Kirsten Brinkman (spouse, Tyler Long) and Stephanie White (spouse, Jamie White); his grandson, Sullivan White; and his sister, Shirley Corrothers (spouse, Joe Corrothers). . He was predeceased by his parents and younger brother, Eddie Brinkman. His life will be celebrated at the family's private residence on Saturday, February 20th, from 2pm to 5pm.
