Moore, SC- Gerald Marvin Forrester, husband of Linda Forrester, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at his home. Born February 1, 1944 in Greer, SC, Gerald was the son of the late Walter “Walt” and Catherine “Dot” Roberta Barnett Forrester. He was a graduate of Roebuck High School, class of 1962, and honorably served his country in the US Marine Corp. Gerald was a Mason, Shriner, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the American Legion, and a member of the Eastern Star. He was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for over 60 years and was a part of the Stepping Out on Faith Sunday School class. Gerald served as a Spartanburg City Police Officer and retired from Spartanburg County Police Department. In addition to his wife, Linda, Gerald is survived by his sons, Michael Forrester and his wife, Leigh, and David Switzer; a daughter, Gia F. Atwood and her friend, Danny Smith; grandchildren, Chandler and Chancellor Forrester, Winton and John Paul Switzer, Trace, Caleigh, and Rheagan Atwood; and Jannie Norris; a brother, Rickey Forrester and his wife, Lorraine; and a sister, Sandy F. Hobbs and her husband, Steve, and is loved by several nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by his former wife, Patricia “Pat” Sanford Forrester; a daughter, Debra Forrester; two brothers, Benjamin and Isaac Forrester; and a sister, Jessie Forrester. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 11th, 1:00-1:45 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Jim Oliver and Reverend Joe Burnett.
