Glenn Douglas "Doug" Ferrell

Glenn Douglas “Doug” Ferrell, 83, of Roebuck, SC, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at home after long illnesses of Alzheimer’s and bone cancer. Throughout his entire battle, he never lost his innate optimism and ability to make others smile with his sense of humor.

Doug was born August 21, 1939 in Buckhead, GA (Morgan County) to Tillman Emmett Ferrell and Clara Deloach Ferrell. He was a dairy farmer in Buckhead, GA until he and his family moved to Youngstown, OH in 1973 where he started working in all facets of the trucking business until opening his own trucking company in 1988. His company had offices in Youngstown, OH and Roebuck, SC. He retired in 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Ferrell; his children, Douglas Bradlee Ferrell (Tammy), Joseph Lee Ferrell (Cheryl), April Ferrell, William Kimble Ferrell; two grandchildren, Tibitha Rachel Ferrell Cook, Lily Belle Ferrell; great granddaughter, Ava Cook; his sister, Karen Ferrell-White; and many nieces and nephews.

His mother, Clara; father, Emmett; brothers, Dan and Lynn; and a niece, Sandra Ferrell all predeceased Doug.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 30^th, 2:00-2:45PM at Dunbar Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Chapel at 3:00PM, officiated by Reverend Sal Barone.

Burial will be held in Westwood Memorial Gardens.
