SGM Glenn Allen Gillespie US Army Retired, 86, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. He was born in Nemours, WV on April 2, 1938, to the late Ernest and Vivian Tate Gillespie. His education included graduating from Pocahontas High School in 1956 and Campbell University - BBS.

Glenn started his career in the Army in 1956 and rose to the rank of Sergeant Major. He served in Vietnam and the Pentagon while there, retiring in August of 1983. Several awards and medals were received during his career, including Bronze Star – Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Meritorious Service Medal.

From 1984 through 1986 he was an Agent with the Internal Revenue Service.

Glenn was a member of the Masonic Order AFAM Kansas, Past Worthy Patron Order of Eastern Star. He was also a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 3 and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1049.

Glenn leaves behind his stepson, David Bolen, and stepdaughter, Devora A McKenzie, both reside in GA. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Charlotte Ann Wines Gillespie.
