Harold Edward Ashe, Jr.

Woodruff, SC- Harold Edward Ashe, Jr., 78, husband of Eleanor Conner Ashe, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Born June 10, 1940 in Atlanta, GA, Harold was the son of the late Harold E. Ashe, Sr. and Doris Holbrook Ashe. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech, majoring in Industrial Management. Harold began his career with Milliken in 1966 as an industrial engineer at Pendleton and later in Abbeville and Hartsville plants. He retired as Director of Product Development Men’s Wear Division after 36 years of service. He was a faithful volunteer with Mobile Meals for more than 10 years and served on the Woodruff Parks & Recreations Committee for 8 years. Harold was a member of First Baptist Church Woodruff. Harold was an avid golfer and thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent playing at Three Pines with his good friends. More than golf, Harold loved his family, of whom he was so proud, and his beloved dogs. In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by his daughters, Nancy Delores Roberson and her husband, G.W., of Spartanburg, SC, and Valerie Calsing and her husband, Brian, of Moore, SC; his son, Daniel Ashe and his wife, Roseann, of Lufkin, TX; grandchildren, Graham Roberson (Harley), Kathleen Roberson, Caleb Calsing, Nicholas Roberson, Conner Calsing, Garrett Roberson, Reese Calsing, and Joshua Ashe; and great grandchildren, Rachel and Caden Roberson. The family will receive friends Monday, July 2nd, 1-2PM at First Baptist Church Woodruff. Funeral services will follow at 2PM, officiated by Reverend Andrew Shull. Entombment will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens at 3:30PM.
