Harold D. RaySpartanburg - Harold Defoy Ray, 84, husband of the late Betty Conwell Ray, died Thursday, April 6, 2017.Harold was born on April 13, 1932 to the late Henry Lee and Jimmie Brown Ray. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Harold was a member of Hutchins-Caldwell Marine Corp League, American Legion Post 28, American Legion Honor Guard, and was a mobile meals volunteer. He was also a member of Bethany Baptist Church.Harold is survived by a son, Kenneth Ray of Spartanburg; daughter Kathy Loy (Don) of Moore; two brothers, James Ray, Ralph Ray, both of Moore; two sisters, Elizabeth Quinn of Spartanburg, Grace Brady of Moore; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Caroline and William Harold Ray; two step-grandchildren, Michelle O’Neal, Jennifer Moore; and six great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by three brothers, Leroy, Dewey, and Carl Ray; and a sister, Estelle Worthy. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Dunbar Funeral Home.
