Harvey W Kirkland

Roebuck-SC- Harvey W. Kirkland, 92, went to be the Lord on Friday, July 7, 2023. 

Born December 12, 1930 in Roebuck, SC, he was the son of the late W.N. Kirkland and Floroy H. Kirkland, and the widow of his loving wife of 49 years, Bobbie Jean Gregory Kirkland.

Mr. Kirkland was of Baptist Faith and a lifelong member of Roebuck Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Chairman of many committees. He was among one of the first 12th grade classes to graduate from Roebuck High School. He served in the US Navy before coming back home to have a career at W.N. Kirkland Mechanical Contractors where he served as Owner and President before his retirement. Mr. Kirkland also served as past President of the Mechanical Association of South Carolina. He was also a member of the Roebuck Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Kirkland and his wife, Cathy, of Moore, SC, and Mark Kirkland and his wife, Tonya, of Roebuck, SC; one daughter in-law, Jennifer Kirkland of Moore, SC; grandchildren, Chris Kirkland (Tracy), Ashley Hall (Jason), Matthew Kirkland (Dana), Michelle Garratt, Stephen Kirkland, Haleigh Kirkland, and Melissa Kirkland; great grandchildren, Jake Hall, Reagan, Harper, and Paisley Garrett, Ryleigh, Cole, Delanie and Levi Kirkland. 

Mr. Kirkland was also survived by his sisters, Wihelmina K. Miller of Florence SC, and Lynda K. Horton of Mableton, GA; one brother, Gary P. Kirkland and his wife, Joyce Ann, of Roebuck, SC; and many nieces and nephews.  

Mr. Kirkland was predeceased by a sister, Gaile K. Howard; and two brothers, Loyd Allen Kirkland and Don H. Kirkland. He was also predeceased by a son, Craig W. Kirkland, who he loved dearly; and a grandson, Bradley Kirkland, who he also loved dearly.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 11th, 11:30AM until 12:45PM at Roebuck Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00PM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Tim Williams.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at 1538 Old Anderson Mill Road, Moore, SC 29369.
