Spartanburg- Helen Belle Kirby Cox, 84, wife of the late Harold D. “Smiley” Cox, died Saturday, June 12, 2021.

Helen was born on July 17, 1937 to the late Barney Thomas and Lillian Webb Kirby. Helen was a longstanding member of Arkwright Baptist Church and often attended Emmanuel Baptist with her late Husband Smiley Cox. Helen was mostly a stay at home Mom that was deeply dedicated to her children & family. Helen’s passions were cooking, frequent beach trips and weekly shopping trips with her daughter Diana.

She is survived by her son, Dean Cox (Joan) of Roebuck; daughter, Diana Goodlett (William) of Roebuck; and a sister, Faye Loving of Spartanburg.

Helen was blessed with three grandchildren, Nikki Snow (Nic) of Spartanburg, Andrew Nodine (Tirzah) of Eugene, OR, McKenzie Cox of Columbia; two great grandchildren, Lily Ruth Snow and Lanham Snow.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Frankie Taylor.
