Roebuck, SC – Henry Manuel Sanders, 92, husband of the late Sue Elizabeth Tapp Sanders, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home after a brief illness.
Born July 20, 1930 in Clinton, SC, Manuel was a son of the late Copher Sanders and Eva Cothran Sanders. He was a graduate of Roebuck High School and honorably served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. Manuel later retired from Mettler Toledo. He was a lifelong member of Roebuck Baptist Church where he served faithfully as deacon, usher, Sunday school teacher, RA Leader, and softball coach. He was a true servant who dedicated his life to helping others. He loved to grow flowers and vegetables and was always growing enough to share with family and friends.
Manuel is survived by his five children, Rhonda Franklin (John), Phillip Sanders (Kathy), Karen Bond (Mike), Rodney Sanders (Teresa), and Melanie Garner (Todd); eight grandchildren, Evan Franklin, Tyler Franklin (Callie), Casey Lyles (Cameron), Dillon Bond (Kortney), Aubrey Sanders, Annika Grace Sanders, Jordan Hughes (Colt), and Logan Garner; great grandchildren, Seager Franklin, Rhett Franklin, Hudson Lyles, Cooper Lyles, and Emma Bond; sister in-law, Jean Sanders; and a large number of nieces, nephews, cousin.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, Sue Tapp Sanders, he was predeceased by a grandson, Spencer Sanders; and siblings, Louella Alverson, Mary Pettit, Mildred Elledge, Jean Cromer, Joe Sanders, and Cary Sanders.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 22nd, 1:00-2:30PM at Roebuck Baptist Church. The funeral will follow in the sanctuary at 2:45PM, officiated by Reverend Dr. Tim Williams.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at their respective homes.
