Jack Cecil Bailey, 80, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Jack was born on January 15, 1944 to Richard D. and Lillian T. Bailey of Poplar Springs, SC. On July 2, 1962, he married the love of his life, Brenda J. Bailey, and they shared 53 happy years together before her passing in 2015. He owned and operated Bailey’s Mobile Truck and Trailer Repair in Roebuck, SC for 32 years before retiring and moving to Greenwood. He is survived by his loving daughter and son in law, Tammie and Paul Foster; his son and daughter in law, Tim and Donna Bailey; grandchildren, Dustin Williams (Amber), Brandie Humphries (Chris), Josh Foster, Krista Foster, Josh Bailey, Dillon Bailey (Amber); 9 great-grandchildren, Gavin, Carstin, Addison, Grayden, Lillie, John Mason, Brenlie, Mara Lynne, and Arthur; sister, Margie Patton; brothers in law and sisters in law, Bobby & Janice Jones and Terry & Kathy Jones; two special friends who were more like family, Norm and Sandra Reese; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Jack was predeceased by his granddaughter, Taylor L. Bailey; brother and sister-in-law, Richard L. and Harriet Bailey; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Tom Boiter; brother-in-law, Clayton Patton, Sr.; and sister-in-law Kay Matthews. Receiving of friends will be Friday, March 15, from 1:00-1:45 pm at J.M. Dunbar Funeral Home. Immediately following receiving of friends, there will be a service in the chapel led by Pastor Shep Bevis, with Jack’s grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers. Jack will be laid to rest following the service at Heritage Memorial Gardens in Roebuck, SC. The family will be at the home of Brandie and Chris Humphries in Campobello, SC.
