A memorial service will be held for Jack Lee West on Saturday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Reverend Joanne Hull will be leading the service. Interment will follow in the Columbarium Garden. Jack Lee West, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away January 15, 2022. He was born July 13, 1932 in Hagerstown, Maryland to Norman E. West, Sr. and Evelyn Nichols West. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Ann Snyder West, his parents, and his brother Norman E. West, Jr. Jack is survived by two siblings, Donald E. West and Norma Jean Warren and her husband Wayne; his sons, Bill and his wife Jan, Brian and his wife Libby; grandchildren Elizabeth Eldridge and her husband Ben, Thomas, Jonathan, and David; great-grandchildren Delilah and Felix; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Jack was a four-sport letterman in high school, where he was fondly known as Spider. He graduated from his beloved Shepherd College in 1955 where he earned a varsity letter on the football team. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy until 1957. He worked as an accountant and controller in the textile industry until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and The Creek Golf Club. Jack will be remembered for his friendly, charming demeaner as well as his fiercely competitive spirit and athleticism. He impressed many on his 75th birthday, beating his age in a round of golf with a striking 73. Jack loved nothing better than to play golf in the great outdoors, read a good book, enjoy a fine meal, and socialize with cherished friends and family
