Spartanburg, SC- Jackson Westmoreland Hambrick, 84, husband of Norma Watts Hambrick, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Born July 27, 1933 in Spartanburg, SC, Jack was a son of the late Andrew Jackson and Irene Westmoreland Hambrick. He was a graduate of Wofford College and received his Masters from the University of South Carolina. Jack honorably served his country in the US Army, stationed in Germany in the First Missile Corp. He was Minister of Counseling for First Baptist Church Columbia and retired from Baptist Medical Center as head of the Ministry Department, starting 22 counseling centers in South Carolina during that time. Prior to his calling to the ministry, Jack worked for Bagnal Builders and Richtex Brick. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and served faithfully at Macedonia Baptist Church in Gaffney, where he was a member for many years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step daughters, Catherine Gregory of Spartanburg, SC, Cindy Mills (Trey) of Columbia, SC, Windy Morbitzer of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Milli Davis (Skip) of Melbourne, FL; and six step grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by two brothers, Reed and Bill Hambrick; and a sister, Jean Bishop. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 30th, 12Noon at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC, 29307, officiated by Reverend Terry Duvall. The family will receive friends following at the graveside.
