Spartanburg, SC- James Forrest “Jim” Ballew, 86, husband of the late Carolyn Littlejohn Ballew, died Friday, April 15, 2022.

Born March 18, 1936 in Tryon, NC, Jim was a son of the late Forrest Pinckney and Essie Mae Pruett Ballew. He was a graduate of Polk County High School, class of 1954, and Clemson College, class of 1959. Jim met and married his wife, Carolyn, and worked in the family business, Littlejohn, Inc., for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Spartanburg.

Jim was devoted to his Savior and served Him faithfully. His love for his family and the Lord permeated into the lives of those near and dear to him.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Tracy Sorrells and her husband, Tim, of Greenville, SC and Lyn Brewer and her husband, Tully, of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Caleb and Amber Sorrells, Jordan and Sarah Kathryn Sorrells, Emma and Taylor Nash, Zach and Caroline Brewer, and Caroline and Thomas Turnbull; thirteen great grandchildren; a sister, Dotty B. Edwards; and sister in-law, Dixie L. Pinson (Robert).

In addition to his wife of 56 years, Jim was predeceased by two siblings, Betty B. Alverson and Bobby Ballew.

There will be an informal welcoming of friends on Saturday, April 23^rd, 11:00AM until 12:15PM at First Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall. The funeral service will follow at 12:30PM in the Sanctuary.

A private family burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
