Bobby was an avid reader. He loved fiction, especially fantasy and mythology. He was known for his childlike wonder and heart of gold. Bobby rarely let anything bother him and was always in good spirits. He was a homebody, but he loved spending time with his family. Taking his nieces and nephews to the movies was a special treat. A dedicated employee, Bobby retired after 18 years with Ingles Markets.
He leaves behind his mother, Donna Dustin McDowell (David); step-mother, Glenda Cottrell; brothers, Joseph F. Cottrell (Tonya), Timothy R. Cottrell (Kimberly), and Sohn M. Cottrell; sisters, Deanna Cottrell and Salena R. Fipps Riddle (Brandon); nephews, Zachary S. Cottrell, Payton Riddle, and Parker Riddle; and maternal grandmother, Nina Dustin.
Memorial services will be held 11:00am on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Grace Baptist Church, 1795 Landrum Mill Road, Campobello, SC 29322, conducted by Rev. Nick Vance.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
