James Michael McLain

James "Jimmy" McLain, 65 of Spartanburg SC passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 29, 2018. He was the son of the late Arthur M. McLain, Jr and Opal Jo Hadden McLain. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Frances Hadden McLain; and son, JJ Hammock. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He is survived by his sister/caregiver, Donna Schultz Fortner of Spartanburg; brother, Sonny McLain of West Virginia; daughter, Victoria McLain of Inman; sons, Jason Hammock (Courtneylyn) of Daytona Beach, Fla, and Shannon McLain (Keri) of Twenty Nine Palms, California; and 7 grandchildren. In 1993, Jimmy had to learn to live life as a paraplegic due to an accident and prior to this he was a roofer and an avid fisherman. Graveside services will be on December 28, 2018 at 2:00pm at Heritage Gardens in Roebuck SC by Rev. David Blanton and Rufus Chaneyworth. The family will receive friends following the graveside. "If you must bury something, bury my faults and my weaknesses.  Give my sins to the devil, give my soul to God."
