Jean W. Crenshaw Gastonia, NC - Jean Writesman Crenshaw has gone to live with her Lord.  Mrs. Crenshaw departed this earth on July 17, 2018. Mrs. Crenshaw was born in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Writesman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bedford Crenshaw, Jr. Survivors are her daughter, Nell Collins Crenshaw Mayotte, son in law Edward F. Mayotte and granddaughter Kate Neely Mayotte; her son Thomas Bedford Crenshaw III, daughter in law Mary Alexander Parker Crenshaw and granddaughter Neely Parker Crenshaw.  Mrs. Crenshaw was Past President and a Charter member of the Rutherford Hospital Auxiliary. She also served on the Rutherford Hospital Board of Trustees. She was Past President and Lifetime member of the Rutherfordton Garden Club, Past President and Charter member of Colonial Dames of the XVII Century Hickory Nut Gorge Chapter, a member of the Griffith Rutherford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims. She volunteered for over 30 years Meals on Wheels.  Mrs. Crenshaw was a life time member of the Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church. She taught Sunday School, Bible Study, and served as an Elder. She served on the Session and as Clerk of Session for 6 years and she also served as Chairman of the Worship Committee. The funeral will be held Saturday, July 21 at 11:00 am at the Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Crenshaw will be interred at Memorial Park in Memphis, Tenn.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church, or the charity of your choice.
