Inman – Jean Paul Marzendorfer died Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Jean was born on December 31, 1925 to the late Joseph and Marie Marzendorfer in Zurich, Switzerland. Sister Colette also predeceased Jean.
He was a first generation Swiss immigrant to the United States arriving in 1950. Jean met his wife Joyce soon after and married in October 1952. After almost 70 years of marriage, Joyce predeceased him in September 2022.
Jean was a proud and honorable member of both the Swiss Army and the United States Army having served the latter in the Korean War.
He was a multi-patent holder of new and innovative designs on scales and weighing equipment. His entire career was with only two companies, Howe Scale and Toledo Scale.
After retiring, Jean continued to work as often as possible at Village Greens Golf Course or in his yard. He loved the outdoors and was eternally in awe of nature and her many wonders.
Jean is survived by his son, Jeff Marzendorfer (Susan); daughter, Julie Marzendorfer; grandchildren, Katherine Grier Marzendorfer of Asheville NC, Griffin Marzendorfer (Zoe), as well as Great-grandson, Miles Cash Marzendorfer of Atlanta, GA.
